BS6 Bajaj Avenger Prices Revealed; Launch Soon
Bajaj Auto will soon update its popular Avenger cruiser motorcycle range to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. While the official launch will happen in coming weeks, prices of the updated model have been revealed. The BS6 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is priced at Rs 89,536 and BS6-compliant Street 220 and Cruiser 220 cost Rs 1.1.5 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai. Compared to the BS4 version, the BS6-compliant Avenger gets expensive by Rs 7,501 (Street 160) and Rs 11,584 (Street 220 and Cruise 220). All three updated models have been benefited with fuel injection technology. Official power and torque figures of the BS6-complaint motors are yet to be revealed by the bikemaker.
In its BS4 form, the Avenger Street 160’s 160cc, air-cooled engine delivers 15PS at 8500rpm and 13.5Nm at 7000rpm. The BS6 Bajaj Avenger Street and Cruise 220 use a 220cc air-cooled motor that’s good for 19.03PS at 8400rpm and 17.5Nm at 7000rpm. Read: 2020 Bajaj Pulsar BS6 Range Prices Leaked
Other than the FI engine, the BS6 Bajaj Avenger range features emission restricting components in the exhaust system. This will increase kerb weight of the cruiser motorcycles. The updated models might also come in new colour scheme.
The Bajaj Avenger range had received last update in 2017. The Street variant witnessed addition of the new grab rail, new instrument cluster, black paint scheme, mag wheels, black painted engine and black exhaust. The Cruiser 220, on the other hand, gets chrome on the headlamps, handlebar and side grabs. While the new silencer improved its NVH levels, the exhaust note fits to its cruiser characteristic.
