BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 with single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) has been launched at Rs 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it the most affordable motorcycle from the Chennai based bikemaker in the country. The BS6-compliant model is around Rs 11,000 pricier than its BS4 version. The bike has already started arriving at dealerships and its deliveries will begin very soon.
The company rolled out the BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 with dual-channel ABS last month. The bike has been priced at Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Similar to the dual-channel ABS version, the single-channel ABS Classic 350 derives its power from a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motor has been boosted with fuel injection technology to make it comply to the upcoming BS6 emission norms.
The updated engine is claimed to return a maximum power of 19.3PS at 5,250rpm and 28Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Compared to the BS4 version, the power figures are slightly lower. No change has been made to the gearbox. The bike continues to use the 5-speed unit.
Besides this, the BS6-ready Royal Enfield Classic 350 single-channel ABS gets new colour schemes – Ash, Chestnut Red and Redditch Red. The regular Pure Black and Mercury Silver shades are continue to be on offer. The bikemaker has removed the Redditch Green paint scheme from the Classic 350 lineup.
