Bajaj Auto and the British bike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles will make formal announcement of their alliance on 24th January, 2020. Under the non-equity partnership, the bikemakers will develop a new range of mid-capacity motorcycles that will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan based plant in Pune. These motorcycles will come with Triumph branding for global markets.
With this alliance, the Triumph Motorcycles aims to enter into the 300-750cc motorcycle segment and Bajaj will foray into the larger capacity bike segment. According to a fresh media report, both brands are jointly working on a 700cc displacement motorcycle that will be an entry-level product from Triumph and a flagship model from Bajaj.
While details of the new Bajaj-Triumph 700cc motorcycle are scanty, it might come with a badge of Bajaj Avenger 700. In the mid premium motorcycle segment, it will take head-to-head against multiple products right from Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 to Harley Davidson Street 750.
