Bajaj Chetak Electric To Be Sold Via KTM Dealerships

Bajaj Chetak, the first electric scooter from the home-grown two-wheeler maker, will be initially sold through KTM dealerships. With this move, the company aims to provide a better experience to customers as KTM showrooms are more premium than the Bajaj’s.

Bajaj Auto will gradually upgrade its existing dealerships to offer premium experience. The new electric scooter from Bajaj will be positioned as a premium product, and priced below Rs 1.50 lakh. Initially, it will be made available in Pune, followed by Bengaluru and other cities.

Powering the Bajaj Chetak will be 4kW electric motor with an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. It will have two riding modes – Eco and Sport – offering a range of 95km and 85km respectively. The scooter will have an in-built charger supporting the standard 5-15 ampere household power socket. It will take around 5 hours to get fully charged. The company will also provide a home charging station at a ‘nominal cost’. The new Chetak electric will not have a DC fast charging option.

Some of its key features include curvy body panels, horseshoe-shaped headlamp with LED element, 12-inch alloys, a digital instrument cluster, telescopic front forks and single-sided cast aluminium swingarm. The new Bajaj Chetak electric will come in a choice of 6 colour schemes.
