2020 Nissan Juke Spied

The next-gen Nissan Juke SUV is expected to be unveiled in late 2019 or early 2020

We informed you earlier that the next-generation Nissan Juke could make its global debut this year. The current Juke is already 9 years old and was removed from Nissan’s U.S. lineup. The next-gen Nissan Juke has been spotted testing for the first time, which looks an all-new model with completely different design.

The spotted model was fully covered in a cloth, though some of the details are visible. It gets sleeker LED headlamps, which is completely different from the current model. In fact, the lower circular LED lights have been revised with smaller size. The boomerang shaped tail-lights have been replaced with wrap-around type sleeker unit that extends onto the tailgate to form a wider profile. The side profile also receives major changes as the ORVMs are now positioned slightly lower on the doors, while the strong character lines now runs across the length. Like the current model, the 2020 Nissan Juke’s rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillars. Greenhouse has also been revised, but it looks smaller and is not likely to offer great visibility.

The 2020 Nissan Juke is likely to be based on the new Renault Clio platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Captur. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.0L turbo petrol, a 1.3L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel. The company could also introduce the range-topping all-wheel drive model with automatic gearbox option. The 2020 Nissan Juke could receive a plug-in-hybrid powertrain comprise of a 1.6L petrol engine, an electric motor and a 9.8-kWh battery pack. It is expected to offer an electric range of 32 kilometers. The SUV could also receive a pure electric version, though nothing official has been revealed by the automaker.

The 2020 Nissan Juke will be based on the CMF platform, which should help in creating more space inside the cabin. The SUV is expected to grow in size and features a longer wheelbase. It will offer improved luggage space, new dashboard and advanced touchscreen infotainment system.
