The wider windshield gives a broader look to the front fascia of the new Thar. It comes with a fabric top and a side-hinged tailgate. The next-gen Thar is expected to receive a new turbocharged diesel engine, which will be compliant with BSVI emission norms. This engine is likely to offer more power and torque than the outgoing model. It is expected to receive a newly developed 5-speed manual gearbox that will send power to all-4 wheels via a 4-wheel-drive system with locking differentials.
