1. New Platform
The new Mahindra Thar 2019 will underpin an all-new platform that will be slightly longer than the existing one. This new architecture will be compliant to the upcoming safety standards. 2. New Powertrains
If reports are to be believed, the new Mahindra Thar 2019 might come with newly-developed petrol and diesel engines. While the current generation model is available with a 2.6L MDI and a 2.5L TCI-CRDe diesel powertrains, the new-generation version is likely to get a new 1.5L petrol and a 2.0L diesel motor. The gasoline unit could be jointly developed by Mahindra and SsangYong.
3. Safer Than Before
As mentioned above, the new Mahindra Thar 2019 will be based on an all-new platform that will meet the upcoming safety norms. Besides this, the SUV might get dual front airbags, brake assist and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) as standard safety features.
