All-New Cars/SUVs To Buy This Navratri Festival

Festive season is almost here and carmakers are gearing up to launch new models to boost their sales. Here’s a brief on the newly-launched and soon-to-be-launched cars/SUVs that can be a good buy this Navratri festival. We have categorised models across four major divisions – Hybrid SUVs, Electric SUVs, CNG cars and small and budget vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

The Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to launch the all-new Maruti Grand Vitara SUV by the end of September 2022 (i.e. near around Navratri festival). The SUV will come 10 variants (2 strong hybrid and 8 mild hybrid) and 9 colour options (3 dual-tone and 6 monotone). Its powertrain setup includes a 1.5L K15C mild hybrid and a 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle delivering 103bhp and 115bhp respectively. One must note that the mild hybrid variants will get two gearbox options – 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT and the strong hybrid version will be available with an eCVT unit. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is all set to hit showrooms in coming weeks. If fuel efficiency and advanced tech are your priorities, the Hyryder could be a good option for this Navratri festival. The SUV shares its design elements, platform, features and hybrid powertrains with Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara. Though, both models look different and have different variant spread. The Toyota Hyryder will be offered in 4 trims – E, S, G and V, powered by Toyota’s 1.5L TNGA Atkison Cycle and Suzuki’s 1.5L K15C mild hybrid setup. Mahindra XUV400 Teased

Prices of the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be announced on 8th September 2022. It’s the electric version of the XUV300, but measures longer and have more cabin space to offer. If reports are to be believed, it could be packed with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) along with the Adreno X connected AI technology. The automaker will source the NMC cells from LG Chem that will used for the XUV400. These cells are said to be superior than the Tata Nexon EV’s cylindrical LFP cells. It might come with battery pack ranging between 40kWh-45kWh and deliver a range around 400km. More details here…

Tata Nexon EV Max

Tata Motors introduced the Nexon EV Max in May 2022. It could be a great deal this Navratri festival for buyers looking for a long-range electric car. The electric SUV is the long-range and more powerful iteration of the standard model. The Tata Nexon EV Max is currently available in XZ+ and XZ+ LUX variants priced at Rs 17.74 lakh and Rs 19.24 lakh respectively. It can be had in three colour schemes – Daytona Grey, Intensi-Teal and Pristine White. The model uses a 40.5kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor mounted on the front axle. It delivers power worth 143bhp and 250Nm of torque. The Nexon EV Max offers a claimed range of 437km on a full charge. It’s capable to do 0 to 100kmph in under 9 seconds. More details here…

Launched in August 2022, the Maruti Swift CNG could also be a good purchase for people looking for fuel efficient CNG car. The CNG hatchback is available in VXi and ZXi variants that cost Rs 7.77 lakh and Rs 8.45 lakh respectively. The model comes with a 1.2L petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The setup promises a peak power of 77bhp and 98.5Nm of torque, which is slightly lesser than the regular petrol motor. The carmaker says that the Swift CNG “is the right proposition for customers, looking for a peppy yet economical city drive”. More details here…

Hyundai Motor India rolled to a new CNG variant of the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta CNG has been priced at Rs 8.45 lakh, thus making it around Rs 92,000 more expensive than its petrol manual counterpart. The model sources it power from a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol motor that’s coupled with a CNG kit. It delivers a claimed power of 68bhp and 95.2Nm of torque, thus making it 14bhp more powerful and 19Nm torqueier than the regular petrol unit. More details here…

The hatchback’s new-generation model recently went on sale at a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh. It comes in 6 exterior colour options and two accessory packages. Compared to the previous model, the new one is bigger and have better styling and advanced features. Citroen C3 Price

This Navratri festival you can also consider the newly-launched Citroen C3. It’s the second offering from the French automaker in the Indian market. The compact hatchback comes in two trims – Live and Feel and 6 variants priced from Rs 5.70 lakh to Rs 8.05 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Under the hood, it features a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2L turbo petrol engine making 82bhp and 110bhp respectively. Initially, the C3 has been offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Citroen claims that its naturally aspirated and turbo motors deliver fuel efficiency of 19.8kmpl and 19.4kmpl respectively.
