Maruti Grand Vitara Launching This Navratri – Price Expectations

Maruti Suzuki is all set to mark its entry into the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment with the Grand Vitara. The model will witness a market launch by the end of September 2022. That means, it will be near around this Navratri festival. It has been co-developed with Toyota and its production will take place at Toyota’s Karnataka plant. The carmaker started taking pre-bookings from 11th July at a token sum of Rs 11,000 and it gathered 50,000 orders so far. The Maruti Grand Vitara will be sold via the brand’s premium Nexa dealership network.

As pre the leaked information, the Maruti Grand Vitara SUV model lineup will come in four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. There will be three automatic and seven manual variants. While the manual models are expected to cost between Rs 9.50 lakh – Rs 15.50 lakh, the automatic variants could be priced from Rs 12.50 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. The strong hybrid powertrain will be available only on the Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants, which are likely to be priced at Rs 17 lakh and Rs 18 lakh respectively. Hybrid Powertrains

Based on Suzuki’s Global C platform, the upcoming Grand Vitara SUV can be had with either a 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine paired with an electric motor or a 1.5L K15C mild hybrid powertrain. While the former makes a combined power output of 115bhp, the latter one is good enough for 103bhp. The mild hybrid powertrain will come with two gearbox options – 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The Alpha manual trim will be exclusively offered with Suzuki’s All-Grip AWD technology.

Mileage

The strong hybrid setup will be available with an eCVT gearbox and deliver a claimed mileage of 27.97kmpl. The carmaker says that the Maruti Grand Vitara mild hybrid 2WD manual, 2WD automatic and AllGrip AWD variants will provide fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl, 20.58kmpl and 19.38kmpl respectively.
