Japanese automaker, Toyota is all set to reveal the prices of the much-awaited Urban Cruiser Hyryder in the next few days. The Toyota Hyryder SUV will directly rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, VW Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq. It is based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform that also underpins the Grand Vitara.
Not just platform, the new Hyryder and the Grand Vitara will also share engine options as well as interior features. A few days back, the rumoured prices of the Grand Vitara were leaked on the Internet. It is speculated to be priced somewhere between Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. Expect Hyryder to be priced very similar to the Grand Vitara. It is also expected to be price around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18.5 lakh.
Production of the new Toyota Hyryder SUV has already been commenced at Toyota’s Bidadi based manufacturing facility. Interested buyers can book the new Hyryder online or at authorised Toyota dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will be offered in four trims – E, S, G and V. The top three variants will be available with strong hybrid powertrain, while rest will come with mild hybrid setup.
The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder will come with a 3 year/1,00,000km warranty that can be extended to 5 years/2,20,000km. The company is also offering an 8 year/1,60,000km warranty on the hybrid batteries.
The new Toyota Hyryder will be offered with 1.5-litre K15C petrol with a mild hybrid and a Toyota-sourced 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle engine. The mild hybrid version produces 103PS and 138Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with paddle shifters. The manual versions will also come with AWD system, which offers 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock.
The 1.5L 3-cylinder TNGA engine produces 92.45PS of power, while the maximum usable power and torque stands at 115.5PS and 122Nm. It comes with Toyota’s e-CVT, which is also offered on the global Yaris Cross hybrid.
