MG Motor India has recently launched the new Gloster facelift, which comes with advanced connectivity features. The company is also preparing to launch the new gen Hector, which is expected to be launched during festive season, Diwali. MG has now released the new interior pictures of the new gen MG Hector 2022, which shows new dual-tone cabin with a larger 14-inch portrait HD touchscreen infotainment system.
MG Hector 2022 Interior
MG claims that the new Hector’s interior is conceptualized as a ‘Symphony of Luxury’. It is designed to offer a “cinematic and immersive experience complemented by handcrafted textures, soft-touch tactlike, and versatile ambience on demand”.
The new model has dual-tone Oak White and Black interior, along with the rich brushed metal finish. The dashboard is finished in leather and leather cover is also added on the door panels, steering wheel and on gear shift. It gets a new multi-functional steering wheel, and an all-new digital instrument console. The chrome finish is visible on the air-con vents and on the steering wheel.
The new gen MG Hector 2022 comes with a largest 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen infotainment system, which is supported with Next-Gen i-SMART technology. The new touchscreen is claimed to offer a responsive, accurate and seamless experience. It comes with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The SUV comes with a fully digital 7-inch configurable instrument console.
There are no physical buttons for air con vents and other functions, as most of these functions are operated via a HD infotainment system. The images show automatic gearbox and the central console has wireless phone charging system, automatic parking lock and others. It also gets leather wrapped armrest.
The new-gen model is expected to come with a Jio e-SIM for connected car features, and a digital key that owner can install on the phone. The SUV is likely to come with the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, speed warning, intelligent headlamp control & blind spot detection.
New Hector – Other Details
The new-gen Hector will also come with some design changes in terms of new chrome grille and, revised LED headlamps and tail-lamps. The SUV has chrome studded grille, which grows in size. The teaser also shows chrome surround for wider and slimmer air-dam, and new split headlamp setup with LED DRLs on top and main headlamp unit sits on lower bumper.
The new gen MG Hector 2022 will continue to be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. While the former is good for 141bhp and 250Nm, the oil burner produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The petrol engine can also be had with the mild hybrid system. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
