2. Mahindra KUV100
In a bid to expand its compact range of SUVs, Mahindra launched KUV100 last year in January that goes squarely against Maruti’s new entrant in the sub-four meter crossover segment, Ignis. Known for its affordable pricing, KUV100 is built on the monocoque chassis and shares design cues with its larger sibling, XUV500.
Under the hood, it gets newly developed petrol and diesel units from Mahindra’s mFalcon family of engines. The 1.2 litre G80 petrol engine in the line-up makes 82bhp 0f power whereas the 1.2 litre D75 oil burner puts out 77bhp. With prices starting at Rs 4.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Mahindra KUV100 is one of the most affordable cars in India with ABS system available across carline.
