5. Tata Tiago
Tata’s first product under IMPACT design strategy, Tiago took off to a good start and continues its successful run in the segment. Introduced last year in India, Tiago was launched at an introductory of Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2 litre petrol engine making 84bhp at 6,000rpm comes mated to the conventional five-speed transmission claimed to return 23.84kmpl. Diesel variants in the line-up derive power from the 1.05-litre oil burner with the fuel economy rated at 27.28kmpl.
Rivalling models such as Maruti Celerio and Hyundai i10 in the entry level B segment, Tiago sports refreshing looks and offers a pleasing cabin equipped with features like Harman sourced infotainment system, AUX-in, USB port, Juke App etc. Keeping in mind its aggressive pricing, ABS is available only on the range topping XZ trim priced at Rs 4.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
