7 Upcoming New Subcompact SUVs In India

The subcompact SUV segment in India, characterized by vehicles falling within the 3.8 to 4.0-meter length range, has witnessed remarkable growth, reflecting the enduring appeal of compact yet well-equipped automobiles among Indian consumers. Inside, the Taisor is expected to feature fresh upholstery, distinctive inserts, and a potentially revised dashboard design. The top-tier trim of this subcompact SUV is anticipated to come generously equipped with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a heads-up display (HUD), a 360-degree camera, cruise control, and a comprehensive safety suite featuring six airbags. This model could be a re-badged version of the Baojun Yep compact electric SUV, based on the GSEV (Global Small Electric Vehicle) platform, which also underpins the MG Comet EV. The Yep boasts a compact 28.1kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery and an electric motor generating 68bhp, providing an impressive electric range of up to 303km on a full charge.

Honda Compact SUV

2023 Honda WR-V Launch

Media reports suggest that Honda Cars India may introduce a new subcompact SUV to fill the void left by the WR-V. While details about the upcoming model remain scarce, it is likely to be based on the new-generation Fit/Jazz platform, which is available in select global markets. On the engine front, the new Honda compact SUV could offer a range of powertrains, including 1.2-liter and 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engines, as well as a 1.0-liter turbo petrol motor with 120bhp and 175Nm of torque.
