New Kia Sonet Interior Revealed – What All Will Change?

Kia India is not only updating its top-selling Seltos SUV but also working on a Sonet facelift, as recently spotted in camouflaged test mules. While the exterior of the test model was hidden, the interior changes have been revealed. The new Kia Sonet facelift will feature dual-tone beige and black upholstery, a new fully digital instrument cluster, and an updated climate control module. The overall dashboard design remains unchanged.

The prototype seen on the test also includes rear AC vents, a rear armrest with cupholders, built-in sun blinds, and 3-point seatbelts in the rear. The higher trim of the new Sonet is expected to offer a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology.

Several existing features will remain intact, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-speaker Bose audio system, UVO connected car technology, voice commands, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, wireless phone charger, traction control, drive modes, hill start assist control, front and rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

On the exterior, the new Kia Sonet facelift will receive updates such as a new front grille, redesigned headlamps with DRLs, a tweaked bumper, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, redesigned LED taillights, and larger LED taillamp clusters. The model lineup is expected to retain the same trim and variant spread as the current model.

Under the hood, there won’t be any changes. The new Kia Sonet facelift will continue to offer the same petrol engines: a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83bhp and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine producing 120bhp. The diesel version will feature the 115bhp 1.5L turbo diesel engine with two gearbox options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT (intelligent manual transmission), and a 7-speed DCT automatic.
