2nd Gen Hyundai Venue To Roll Out From Talegaon Plant In 2025

Hyundai Motor India Limited has finally acquired the General Motors India (GMI)’s Talegaon plant in Maharashtra. The company said that the manufacturing operations at the plant are expected to commence in 2025. A new media report claims that the next generation Venue will be the first Hyundai to roll out from the new Talegaon plant. The company aims to produce around 1,50,000 vehicles a year.

The report stated that Hyundai will introduce the second generation Venue in the Indian market in 2025. It will continue to remain under 4 meters in length and will sit above the recently launched Exter micro SUV in Hyundai’s line-up. The second gen Venue has been internally called the Project Q2Xi, while the first-gen model was codenamed QXi.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift

The Venue has been a steady seller for the Korean brand in our market. The company has sold over 4.5 lakh units of the sub-4 meter SUV in our market since its inception in 2019. This SUV is positioned against the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and the Mahindra XUV300.

Hyundai is currently has a production capacity of 8,20,000 units at its manufacturing facility in Chennai. The company aims to achieve its goal of manufacturing around 1 million units a year. Hyundai will invest Rs 5,000 crore in the coming decade and Talegaon facility will play an important role in achieving the 1 million production milestone.

Hyundai is currently working on multiple products for the Indian market. The company will introduce the new Creta SUV in our market in 2024. It will be different from the global-spec model and will have India-specific design changes. Moreover, the new Creta will also receive ADAS tech. Adding to it, Hyundai is also working on a new Creta-sized electric SUV for the Indian market.
