MG Hector 7-Seater SUV India Launch In January 2020

MG Hector 7-seater will rival the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Cassini.

MG Motor, the British carmaker, is ready to start its Indian innings with the Hector 5-seater premium SUV. In coming eighteen months, the company plans to expand its product lineup with more SUVs based on four new platforms. MG has already confirmed that eZS electric SUV will hit Indian roads by the end of this year. Production of the vehicle is already underway at the company’s Halol plant.

Official launch of the MG Hector will take place during 2019 festive season (i.e. September – October). The carmaker will also introduce 6 and 7-seater version of the Hector in January, 2020. The information has been confirmed by Gaurav Gupta, Vice President- Sales & Marketing, MG Motor India while talking to carandbike.

The MG Hector 5-seater and 7-seater will share the same platform that also underpins the China-spec Baojun 530 SUV. While the 5-seat version will take on the Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier, the 7-seat model will rival the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Cassini. The fourth product from the British carmaker in India will be a subcompact SUV that will be put up against the Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Interestingly, MG Motor is planning to make iSmart connectivity features standard across its entire product lineup. That means, all MG vehicles will be ‘Connected Cars’ with inbuilt features like Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, automotive voice assistant, M2M 5G ready embedded SIM, E-call emergency response and infotainment system with pre-loaded applications. One can also enable to access real-time date of the car including vehicle status, tyre pressure etc.
