Wagon R 7 seater

If media reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki is working on a 7-seater MPV based on the new-gen Wagon R. The new model could be sold with a new name, and is likely to be called Maruti Suzuki Solio. This model will be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealership network. The new-gen Wagon R is based on the new HEARTECT platform and is longer and wider than the previous model. Maruti plans to utilise the new platform and Wagon R structure to offer an afforable 7-seater MPV. This model will be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT versions will be on offer. Volkswagen Tiguan 7-seater

German premium carmaker, Volkswagen will launch 2 new SUVs – the T-ROC and the Tiguan Allspace 7-seater in the country this year. It is expected that the VW Tiguan 7-seater model will replace the existing 5-seater model. The company is most likely to offer the 2WD version of the SUV to curb pricing. Tata Cassini

Tata Motors has officially announced that it will launch the 7-seater version of the Harrier SUV in India this year. The SUV was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show with Buzzard nameplate. However, the India-spec model will be called the Tata Cassini. The SUV will directly rival the Mahindra XUV500. The company has increased the length of the Harrier by up to 102mm to accommodate third row of seats. It will be powered by the 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine that is likely to produce around 171bhp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Ertiga Sport

Maruti Suzuki is currently testing the sportier version of the Ertiga MPV in India. Likely to be called Maruti Ertiga Sport, the new model will be sold through NEXA dealerships. It will be a six-seater MPV with captain seats for all 3 rows. The new model will come equipped with sporty body kit, which includes side skirts, more prominent grille, aggressive bumper, bolder cladding and roof-integrated spoiler. It will be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system that also powers the existing model.

Updated Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra will soon launch the upgraded version of the Bolero SUV in India. The model has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. It will receive cosmetic changes in terms of styling. The SUV will receive driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, speed alert and central locking as standard. Continue reading…
