2021 Mahindra Alturas facelift

Mahindra & Mahindra recently updated the Alturas flagship SUV to comply with the BS6 emission standards. The 7-seater premium SUV is based on the Ssangyong Rexton G4 that will soon receive a mid-life update in the South Korea later this year. Ahead of its official launch, the facelifted Rexton G4 has been spotted during its test rounds in South Korea. In India, it will come as Mahindra Alturas facelift sometime next year.

The SUV prototype was heavy camouflaged covering most of its design details. Though, you can notice the new honeycomb mesh grille, updated bumper, a larger hexagonal radiator grille and revised headlamps at the front end. The SUV also gets newly-designed alloy wheels, taillamps with new inserts and repositioned badges at the rear.

2021 Ssangyong Rexton G4 facelift

Interior of the updated Ssangyong Rexton G4 (2021 Mahindra Alturas facelift) will receive a new BMW-like gear shifting lever. The SUV might get an updated infotainment system and new connected car technology. Features such as dual zone climate control, coloured multi-info display ventilated seats, a 360 degree camera, powered tailgate and cruise control will be carried over from the existing model. With respect to safety, the facelifted model will continue to offer 9 airbags, electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, hill start assist and hill descent control. In South Korean market, the Ssangyong Rexton G4 facelift will continue to be offered with the 2.2L diesel engine paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The oil burner will generate a maximum power of 187PS, which is 6PS more than its predecessor. Its torque output stands at 420Nm.

2021 Mahindra Alturas Interior

In India, the 2021 Mahindra Alturas facelift is likely to come with the BS6 2.2L diesel engine that’s good enough for 180PS and 420Nm of torque. It will continue to come with 2WD and 4WD options. Transmission duties will be performed by a 7-speed automatic unit.
