2020 Mahindra XUV500 Will Be More Powerful; Debut At Auto Expo
The Mahindra XUV500 is all set to enter into its new generation by the end of 2020 or early 2021. The all-new model of the SUV is likely to make its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in the first week of February, 2020. We have got you the very first spy pictures of the 2020 Mahindra XUV500, which was on its testing rounds on the outskirts of Chennai.
Reports suggest that the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will receive a more powerful 2.0L diesel engine that will meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The new turbocharged oil burner will be capable to deliver power around 180bhp, and replace the existing 2.2L motor that makes 155bhp.
This time around, the Mahindra XUV500 might also get a new turbocharged petrol engine as well. We have reported earlier that Mahindra & Mahindra aims to expand its petrol engine lineup with an all-new 2.0L turbocharged gasoline motor. Its power output will be around 185bhp.
Besides the more powerful, BS6-compliant engine setup, the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will witness comprehensive styling changes and feature upgrades. The SUV’s new model will be based on the all-new monocoque platform that will also underpin Ford’s upcoming C-SUV.
Some of its major design changes will include a larger grille, newly-designed headlamps and taillamps, sleeker airdam, a more sculpted tailgate, a shark fin antenna and roof rails.
The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 might also see minor dimensional changes. As of now, we have very limited information about its interior. Though, it’s likely to get a newly-designed steering wheel.
