For safety provision, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will offer airbags, co-driver seat belt reminder, high speed alert, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard fitments. Ditching the existing platform, the updated model will sit on a new ladder on frame chassis that will enhance its driving dynamics.
The 2020 Mahindra Thar will ride on larger alloy wheels with 235 or 245 section tubeless tyres. Compared to the existing generation, the new one will be longer and wider.
For power, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will use a new BS6-compliant 2.0L diesel engine generating power close to 140PS and 320Nm of torque. The same oil burner will also be used in the new-generation XUV500 and Scorpio, but delivering different power outputs. Transmission on offer will be a 6-speed manual unit.
