2020 Mahindra Thar To Come With 5 & 6 Seats Layouts
Mahindra’s highly-popular off-roader – Thar – is ready to enter into its new generation next year. The all-new Mahindra Thar is likely to debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2020, followed by its launch. The SUV’s new model will witness some significant changes including the updated GEN3 ladder frame chassis, new powertrain and factory-fitted Hardtop. It will also witness minor dimensional changes that will result more cabin space.
2020 Mahindra Thar will come with two seat layouts – 5 and 6. For the first time, the SUV will come with the factory-fitted hardtop along with front facing seats. Besides this, the new Thar will get an all-black interior theme with features such as newly-designed dashboard, steering with mounted controls, a new instrument console with a large MID in centre and twin dials on either side. The new-generation version could also be offered with a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. On the safety front, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will be a lot better than the existing one. It will receive dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), seat belt reminder and speed alert as standard fitments. As far as engine is concerned, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will source its power from a new 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine pushing out power worth 140bhp with torque over 350Nm. The new oil burner will meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. For transmission duties, the SUV will have a 6-speed manual gearbox with an optional 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system.
