2020 Hyundai i20 Teased; Global Debut In March
The South Korean carmaker has dropped the first teaser pictures of the new-generation Hyundai i20 ahead of its world debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March. The teasers reveal that the hatchback’s new model will be more evolved in terms of design. The front bumper of the 2020 Hyundai i20 will have bold creases on the bumper as we have seen on the newly-launched Aura compact sedan.
You can notice the signature cascading grille merging with headlamps, similar to the Elantra facelift. The hatchback might also receive sleeker air intake, newly-designed fog lamps and alloy wheels, wider ORVMs, LED brake lights and new wing mirrors.
Interior details of the 2020 Hyundai i20 are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to get first-in-segment fully digital instrument cluster. Similar to the Venue subcompact SUV, the new i20 might be equipped with Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology. The list of features is likely to include a sunroof, a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, wireless charging, new steering wheel and rear AC vents. The 2020 Hyundai i20 will come with a 1.2L, naturally aspirated petrol and a new 1.5L diesel engine. The premium hatchback will also come with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol. Transmission choices will include a manual and a DCT automatic gearbox.
In India, the new-generation Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing multiple times. It might hit showrooms in June, 2020 and take on the newly-launched Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
