The long-awaited Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan has been shown at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. The carmaker, however, showcased its performance-oriented AMG A35 model. Similar to the global model, the India-spec A-Class will be positioned below the Mercedes-Benz CLA.

Here, it’s likely to replace the brand’s most affordable A-Class hatchback later this year. Prices of the Mercedes Benz A-Class are likely to start from around Rs 32 lakh and the sportier AMG A35 will cost higher.

Based on the new-generation MFA II platform, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class carries the same diamond-studded grille design, sharp LED headlamps with LED DRLs, new ORVMs with integrated LED turn signal lights, twin-5-spoke alloy wheels (ranging from 16 to 19-inches), a sloping roofline, blackened B-pillar and short overhangs at the rear.

Interior of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class looks similar to its hatchback sibling. Similar to the new GLA, the sedan comes with MBUX multimedia system (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) that enables to operate digital screens via a touchpad or new multi function steering wheel. The AMG A35 gets a customised instrument cluster with a ‘Supersport’ mode and sports seats in the front.
