2020 Force Gurkha Launch In June – Modern and More Powerful
2020 Force Gurkha BS6 was unveiled at this year’s Auto Expo alongside the heavily accessorized Gurkha. The SUV’s new model was scheduled to launch in April. However, a latest report claims that the new Gurkha will hit showrooms sometime in June, 2020. Once launched, it will put up against the new-generation Mahindra Thar that’s due for June.
Thanks to the comprehensive cosmetic upgrades, the BS6 Force Gurkha looks more rugged and refreshing than the outgoing model. The SUV receives a newly-designed front grille, updated bumpers, more pronounced wheel arches with black cladding and new light clusters. The original upright stance and retro design bits remain intact.
Interior has also been revised with a new dashboard, revised instrument cluster, a new centre console with integrated touchscreen infotainment system and new control surfaces for the air con system.
The digital MID has been placed between the speedometer and tachometer. It has four forward facing seats with two individual seats in the second row. With respect to safety, the 2020 Force Gurkha BS6 offers dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system).
At the heart of the 2020 Force Gurkha is the BS6-compliant 2.6L diesel engine hooked to a 5-speed manual transmission. The oil burner is claimed to deliver a peak power of 90bhp, thus making it 5bhp more powerful than its BS4 version. Drivetrain duties are done by 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system with lockable differentials.
