Maruti Ertiga 6-Seater With New 1.5L Diesel Engine Launching Soon – Report
The new Maruti Ertiga 6-seater variant will be sold via premium NEXA dealerships.
Maruti Suzuki India introduced the next-generation Ertiga 7-seater MPV in November, 2018. According to a fresh media report, the Indo-Japanese carmaker will soon expand the MPV carline with a new 6-seater variant. The new Maruti Ertiga 6-seater version will be positioned top the line and is expected to go on sale in coming weeks.
While the 7-seater version of the MPV is retailed via Arena showrooms, the new 6-seater variant will be sold via Maruti’s premium NEXA dealerships. The Ertiga’s arch rivals – Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo – are already available with 6-seats configuration. Read – New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Vs Old

The report further suggests that the new Maruti Ertiga 6-seater will have slightly more premium interior than the 7-seater model. It might get faux leather seat upholstery instead of the regular fabric seats. The new top-spec trim will have captain’s chairs in the middle row (2+2+2), instead of the standard three-passenger bench seat.
We have reported earlier that the Maruti Ertiga will soon receive a new BS6-ready 1.5L diesel engine, developed in-house by Suzuki. The new oil burner will eventually replace the BS4, 1.3L DDiS diesel powertrain in the MPV carline. Though, it might debut on the Ciaz mid-size sedan that will go on sale next month. The company’s new 1.5L, four-cylinder diesel engine will deliver power close to 95bhp with 225Nm of torque.
