With the launch of 2018 Softtail range of motorcycles, Harley-Davidson has updated its entire cruiser line up in India. Four all-new Softail models – Fat Bob, Street Bob, Heritage Softail Classic and Fat Boy – celebrate the company’s 115th Anniversary year. The Harley-Davidson Street Bob is available at Rs 11.99 lakh, the Fat Bob is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh and the Fat Boy comes with a price tag of Rs 17.49 lakh. Priced at Rs 18.99 lakh, the Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classis is the most expensive model in the lineup. One must note that the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

The four new Softails are based on a lighter, more rigid frame that not only increases lean angles and turn-in response of the motorcycles, but improves their acceleration as well. Harley-Davidson claims that the new frame is 65% stiffer than the old Softail design that increases the overall chassis stiffness by 34%. The new Softail motorcycles features two swingarms transferring rear wheel movement to the under-seat monoshock.
The 2018 Softail motorcycles features all-new high-performance dual-bending valve front suspension, which has already been used in the touring range. The new monoshock rear suspension setup also aid to the overall ride quality, control and traction of the motorcycles. The LED headlamps, new seat designs and materials are few updates made to the bikes. Though, the Fat Bob gets a completely revised front fascia with horizontal LED headlamp. Save for the Heritage Softtail Classic that uses the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, the 2018 Softail motorcycles come with a new Milkwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin engine. The Milwaukee-Eight powertrains features a refined, dual internally counter-balanced system reducing engine noise and vibration.
