Audi’s all-new ‘Q2’ compact SUV might make its way to India early next year. In Audi’s Indian product lineup, the Q2 will be positioned below the Audi Q3. Interestingly, it will be the smallest and most affordable SUV from the German carmaker in the country. Sporting progressive design and new styling that “exhibits an independent character within the Q family”, the Audi Q2 will appeal young buyers.
The carmaker claims that the Q2 is an urban-type vehicle combining a progressive design with a high-level of functionality, connectivity and assistance systems. On the exterior, the SUV features a Singleframe grille in octagonal design with large air inlets, a long roof edge spoiler, high window line and a diffuser with an underbody protection look. While the new Q2 gets multiple engine options globally, it is likely to come with two powertrains in India. The India-spec model could be offered with a 1.0-litre TFSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. The former will produce a maximum power of 114bhp, the latter one will be tuned for generating two states of tune. Transmission choices might include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed S tronic unit.
