Hyundai India has a handful of new models that will see a release in coming months. The first one to hit showrooms will be the second-generation Hyundai Creta, followed by the Tucson and Verna facelifts. The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift has already been revealed for Chinese and Russian (as Solaris) markets.

The India-spec Verna facelift is likely to be the rebadged Solaris, but with slightly different styling treatment. According to a fresh media report, the carmaker might offer the 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine on the new Verna facelift lineup. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the newly-launched Aura compact sedan and Grand i10 Nios.

The new turbo motor promises a peak power of 120PS against 172Nm of torque. For performing transmission duties, the sedan will get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will also be available with BS6-compliant 1.5L petrol and diesel engine options. While the former will get a CVT automatic gearbox, the latter will come with a 6-speed torque converter transmission.

In terms of design, the facelifted Hyundai Verna turbo petrol will carry a few sporty elements including gloss black grille, front parking sensors, twin tip exhaust, paddle shifters and all-black interior with red inserts. The sedan will also receive full LED headlamps and cornering lamps, dark chrome grille, projector fog lamps and LED taillamps.

As mentioned above, the India-spec 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will look slight different than the Russia-spec Solaris. The top-end variant is likely to get chrome treatment on the front grille, rear view mirrors and headlamp housing instead of the black finish.
