2020 Yamaha FZ25 BS6 Launch

Select dealerships have started accepting pre-orders for the BS6 Yamaha FZ25 across the nation. One can pre-book the bike by paying an initial sum of Rs 3,000 – Rs 10,000 (vary dealership-wise). Delivers of the updated model will begin by the end of March or early April, 2020. Compared to its BS4-compliant version that costs Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2020 Yamaha FZ25 BS6 is likely to be priced around Rs 3,000 – Rs 4,000 premium. The BS6 Yamaha FZ25 and FZS 25, which were unveiled early this month, received subtle cosmetic upgrades and new colour schemes along with the updated engine. The bike derives its power from a 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine benefited with fuel injection technology. The updated motor is around 0.1bhp more powerful and 0.1Nm less torqueier than its BS4 carburetted version. The BS6-compliant motor produces a top power of 208bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

The updated model continues to feature the telescopic fork upfront and monocross shock absorber suspension unit at the rear. Stopping power comes from the same 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brake, which is further assisted by dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).

As mentioned above, the BS6 Yamaha FZ25 received minor styling changes including LED headlamp and taillamp. The headlamp and engine cowl has also been revised. The bike also comes with a side stand engine cut-off function and a new negative LCD multifunction instrument cluster. The 2020 Yamaha FZS 25, on the other hand, will be offered in dual-tone Dark Cyan (with golden alloys), Dark Matte Blue (with golden alloys) and Metallic White shades. It will see a release in late 2020.
