The new Ford Aspire 2018 has Boron Steel body built that makes it slightly heavier than the outgoing model.

The fresh details of the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift have emerged online. As per the leaked information the updated version of the sedan has Boron Steel body built that makes it slightly heavier than the outgoing model. The same material has already been used in the EcoSport facelift.

With the heavy body built, the new Aspire diesel model is likely to accelerate 0-100kmph in 11 seconds. That means, the refreshed diesel version could be around 1.28 second slower than the existing one. The new 1.2L petrol powertrain, which will be borrowed from the Freestyle, could be available with manual gearbox along with a 6-speed automatic with SelectShift. It delivers a peak power of 96bhp with 120Nm of torque. The 1.5L petrol will be offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission only. The 1.5L turbocharged diesel motor pushes out power worth 986bhp against 215Nm of torque. The American carmaker will also introduce a CNG version of the sedan that will target the taxi segment. The Aspire CNG model is likely to go on sale sometime next year. As far as the pricing is concerned, the top-spec variant of the new Ford Aspire 2018 facelift is reported to be priced at Rs 10.50 lakh (on-road).
