In order to capitalize on the upcoming festive season, Maruti Suzuki has launched a new limited edition of its most popular hatchback Swift. Named the Maruti Swift Special Edition, the new model is based on the entry-level variant. It is available in both petrol and diesel guise with prices starting at Rs 4.99 lakh.
This Swift Special Edition gets a range of new features, few of which sourced from the mid-level LXi and LDi variants. Talking about exterior changes, the new limited model gets black wheel caps, body coloured door handles and housing for the ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors).

Inside the cabin, the new Maruti Swift Special Edition gets a Bluetooth-enabled single DIN music system with dual front speakers, front power windows, reverse parking sensors and central locking. The Maruti Swift is available in two engine options – 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel. The former is capable of producing 82bhp and 113Nm of torque, while the oil burner is good for 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit.
In terms of new product launches, Maruti will launch the new-generation Ertiga MPV in the country. The new model will be powered by a new 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine with Suzuki’s new SHVS mild hybrid technology. Besides, Maruti could also launch the limited edition variants of the existing variants.
