Vitara Brezza, Celerio, Baleno, Swift To Enter New Generation

Maruti Suzuki has planned a range of new models for the Indian market. The Indo-Japanese carmaker will introduce bigger SUVs to rival Hyundai and give a new-generation change to its four highly popular products – Celerio, Swift, Baleno and Vitara Brezza. While the new Maruti Celerio hatchback and Vitara Brezza compact SUV are slated to arrive in 2021, the new Baleno and Swift hatchbacks are reported to hit roads in 2022 and 2024 respectively.

The 2021 Maruti Celerio will be the first product to roll out with comprehensive cosmetic and feature upgrades. The hatchback will also switch to the lightweight Heartect platform that underpins the Dzire and WagonR. Compared to the current generation, the new one will be bigger and have longer wheelbase to offer more cabin space. Its engine setup will include a 82bhp, 1.2L K12 petrol and a 1.0L K10 petrol unit with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

2020 Maruti Suzuki Celerio Launch

The 2021 Maruti Vitara Brezza is set to launch during this year’s festive season. One of the biggest changes will be made to its underpinning and engine setup. If reports are to be believed, the new model will sit on the Heartect architecture and come with the stronger hybrid system. The existing 104bhp, 1.5L petrol engine will also be on offer. Ditching the 4-speed automatic gearbox, the Vitara Brezza will get a 6-speed automatic unit. The new model is reported to get factory-fitted sunroof along with a bunch of new features.

The new-generation Maruti Baleno is likely to reach showrooms in late 2021 or early 2022. The new model will receive significant changes inside and out. This time around, the carmaker might bring in the 1.0L Boosterjet petrol engine with the BS6 upgrade. The existing 82bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and 89bhp, 1.2L Dualjet petrol SHVS mild hybrid powertrain will also be on offer.

2022 Maruti Swift Launch

The development process of the new Maruti Swift is reported to be commenced. The hatchback’s new model will have its world debut sometime in 2022, followed by its launch in 2024. It’s likely to sit on the modified Heartect platform and come with significantly updated design and interior. The new Swift could be offered with the stronger 48V hybrid system replacing the existing 12V mild hybrid technology. The 89bhp, 1.2L K12 Dualjet petrol motor will also be carried forward from the current generation.
