Upcoming Tata & Mahindra SUVs In 2021 – Confirmed List

Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are quite aggressive with their product strategies. Both companies have planned a range of new models that will hit roads by the end of this year. The plan outlines several facelifts, special editions and new-generation models. Here’s a brief on the upcoming Tata and Mahindra SUVs that have been confirmed for 2021.

After the reviving the iconic Safari brand, Tata is planning to launch the production-ready version of the HBX concept based mini SUV. While there is no official word, its final model is likely to be named ‘Tata Timero’ and reported to debut in May 2021. Its launch might happen near around this year’s Diwali season.

Tata HBX 5 Things

The SUV will carry upright stance similar to the concept and share some of its design bits with the Harrier (especially the front end). Reports suggest that the Tata HBX (Tata Timero) will be offered with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engines making 86bhp and 100bhp. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer.

The carmaker will also introduce the new Tata Hexa 4X4 with a BS6-complaint, 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine that’s good for 156bhp and 400Nm. It will be offered with three gearboxes – 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. A few changes will also be made to its exterior and interior including new upholstery, safari badging on the driver side dashboard.

2021 Mahindra XUV500 Launch Date

Mahindra & Mahindra will roll out the new-generation XUV500 and Scorpio along with the Thar featuring a new updates. The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 and Scorpio will receive noticeable changes inside and out along with a more powerful engine setup. While the former will come with the 190bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol and 180bhp, 2.2L diesel engines, the latter one will be available with the new 152bhp, 2.0L mStallion petrol and 158bhp, 2.2L diesel engine options. Both SUVs will have manual and automatic gearbox options along with 4X2 and 4X4 AWD system.

If reports are to be believed, the new Mahindra Thar will receive a new removable hard top variant, three new colour schemes and a new 180 mStallion Pro turbo petrol engine. While there is no official launch timeline of the updates, all are likely to be made this year.

2021 Mahindra Scorpio Details

In 2021, the home-grown carmaker will also bring in the new Mahindra Bolero Neo that’s reported to be based on the TUV300 facelift. The SUV is likely to come with slightly revised design along with a new infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, newly-designed dashboard and better material quality. Powering the Bolero Neo will be the BS6, 1.5L mHawk diesel engine with manual and AMT gearbox options. The motor makes a top power of 100bhp and 240Nm of torque.
