Tata Hexa 4X4 Model Spotted – When It Will Launch?

Recently, the new Tata Hexa 4X4 variant has been caught on camera near the carmaker’s manufacturing plant. The spotted model has XMA badging on the tail gate and 4X4 moniker on the front passenger side panel. You can notice a chrome trim on the top of the taillamps and along the side window line. While the SUV’s top-spec model comes with dual-tone alloy wheels, the spotted XMA 4X4 variant runs on the steel wheels.

Just so you know, the carmaker showcased the Tata Hexa Safari edition featuring BS6-compliant 2.2L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 156bhp and 400Nm of torque. The updated engine is yet to be offered on the model lineup. One must note that there is no official word on its launch timeline. The BS4 version of the Hexa uses a 2.2L diesel unit that’s good for 148bhp and 320Nm. In higher variants, the same motor delivers 154bhp with 400Nm.

The Hexa lineup can be had with three gearboxes – 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Similar to the previewed Hexa Safari Edition, the BS6 Tata Hexa might be offered with 4X4 drivetrain system. Compared to the regular model, the Safari edition features new roof rails and contrasting paint on the body cladding. Interior has also been revised with new upholstery and safari badging on the driver-side dashboard.

In other news, Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the more powerful turbo petrol variant of the Altroz premium hatchback. According to the leaked information, the new Altroz turbo-petrol variant will deliver power around 109bhp that will make it as powerful as the Volkswagen Polo TSI. In coming months, the carmaker will also roll out the Camo and Dark editions of its existing models including Tiago, Altroz, Tigor, Nexon, Harrier and the upcoming Gravitas SUV.
