New Tata Safari Prices, Features, Specs In 10 Quick Points

The long-wait for the new Tata Safari is finally over as the home-grown carmaker has launched the 6/7-seater SUV in the country. The model lineup comes in six variants – XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+.

Prices of the new Safari start from Rs 14.69 lakh for the entry-level XE variant and go all the way up to Rs 21.25 lakh for the fully-loaded XZA+ trim. The company has also introduced a new Adventure Persona, which is priced at Rs 20.20 lakh for manual and 21.45 lakh for automatic version. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings have already been commenced at an initial sum of Rs 30,000.

The 2021 Safari is the new flagship offering in Tata’s product lineup. The SUV, which is essentially the three-row version of the Harrier, was unveiled as Gravitas concept at the last year’s Auto Expo.

It has been made available in 6-seats and 7-seats configurations. All variants can be had with 7-seats layout featuring bench type seats in the second row, while the XZ+ and XZA+ come with 6-seats arrangement offering captain seats in the middle row.  The additional third row seat has 50:50 split function to create the boot space. Its 7-seater version has foldable and reclining 60:40 split second row seats. There are AC vents for the third row seat passengers.

No change has been made to its underpinning. Similar to the Harrier, the new Tata Safari sits on the Land Rover D8 derived OMEGARC (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) platform.

Dimensionally, the new Tata 7-seater SUV measures 4,661 mm in length, 1,894 mm in width and 1,786 mm in height. It has a 2,741 mm of wheelbase. This makes it 63mm longer and 80mm taller than its younger sibling. Read – Upcoming Tata Harrier Petrol Details

The SUV has been offered in three colour schemes – Orcus White, Royale Blue and Daytona Grey.

Features such as an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital display for instrument cluster, White interior theme, Benecke-Kaliko oak brown leather seat upholstery, 9-speaker JBL audio system, terrain response modes, side and curtain airbags, hill descent control, electronic parking brake, Isofix child seat mounts, 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, Xenon HID headlamps, 18-inch machined alloys, fog lamps with a cornering function, shark fin antenna are reserved for the top-end XZ and XZA trims.

The XZ+ and XZA+ are additionally offered with a panoramic sunroof along with the exclusive 6-seats layout.

Tata Safari Interior

Some of its other key features include iRA connected car technology with voice recognition, automatic climate control, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, ambient mood lighting, power folding and adjustable wing mirrors, keyless entry and go, tyre pressure monitor, cruise control, rear parking camera, rear centre armrest, steering mounted controls, height adjustable driver’s seat and many more. Under the hood, the new Tata Safari employs Harrier’s BS6-compliant 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine. The oil burner pushes out a maximum power of 170 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque between 1,750-2,500 rpm.

The motor comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional Hyundai sourced 6-speed automatic torque converter automatic transmission.
