Upcoming Tata Cars in 2023 – 4 Facelifts, 2 CNGs, 1 New EV

Tata Motors plans to update its existing SUV model lineup this year including Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier and Safari. Furthermore, the company will introduce CNG versions of the Altroz hatchback and Punch micro SUV and Punch EV. Here’re some key details of the upcoming Tata cars.

Tata Altroz CNG, Punch CNG

Tata Punch CNG

While the Altroz CNG will go on sale on 19th April (i.e. tomorrow), the Punch CNG will come in the next couple of months. The hatchback model lineup will get 6 CNG variants featuring 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine with the CNG dual-cylinder setup. It offers a peak power of 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. Mileage figure stands at 26.49km/kg. Three variants of the Altroz CNG will come with an electric sunroof with voice assist. Prices of the CNG versions are likely to be around Rs 90,000 more expensive than their standard petrol counterparts. More details here…

Tata Nexon/Nexon EV Facelifts

The Tata Nexon facelift is reported to hit showrooms in late July or August 2023. Major updates will be made inside its cabin. The subcompact SUV will receive a new twin-spoke steering wheel (similar to the Curvv concept), a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, new purple seat upholstery and paddle shifters. The new Nexon will carry the brand’s new design language that was previewed with the Curvv concept. Under the hood, the compact SUV will employ a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine making 125PS and 225Nm. The 115bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine will also be on offer. With the Nexon facelift, the carmaker will bring in the updated version of the Nexon EV in coming months. More details here…

Tata Harrier/Safari Facelifts

Upcoming Tata Cars Harrier Electric design

The updated models of both SUVs are expected to come in the second half of 2023 (probably during Diwali season). Design changes of the 2023 Tata Harrier will heavily be inspired by Harrier EV concept that broke cover at this year’s Auto Expo. Inside, the upcoming Tata cars will get a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a new 7-inch digital instrument console and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). Both SUVs will use the same 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engines making 170bhp and 350Nm. More details here…

Tata Punch EV

Tata Punch Revealed

Tata Punch EV, which is currently in its testing phase, will arrive in the second half of 2023. The electric micro SUV is likely to feature Tata’s Ziptron technology that consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a battery pack. If reports are to be believed, it could be offered with the Tiago EV’s 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs, paired to the 74bhp and 61bhp electric motors respectively. The Punch EV is expected to deliver a range of around 300km on a single charge. A few EV-specific changes will be made to the mini SUV. The spy images confirm that the Punch electric will get rear disc brakes replacing the regular rear drum brakes. More details here…
