Mahindra XUV700, Scorpio N & Scorpio Classic Waiting Period Details

The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra has recently announced to increase its production capacity to 49,000 units before the end of this financial year. The company aims to reduce the waiting period on its popular SUVs including the XUV700, ScorpioN and the Scorpio Classic. All three SUVs currently command a long waiting period. 

1. Mahindra XUV700 – Up to 13 Months

The XUV700 SUV is available in 5 trim levels – MX, AX3, AX5, AX7 and AX7L – in petrol and diesel fuel guise. The MX & AX3 petrol & diesel variants command a waiting period of up to 6 months and 7 months respectively. On the other hand, the AX5 trim has a waiting period of up to 8 months. The top-spec AX7 and AX7L trims command a waiting period of up to 15 months. 

The Mahindra XUV700 is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The diesel version gets a 2.2-litre turbo engine that offers two states of tune – 155hp and 360Nm of torque, and 185hp and 420Nm (450Nm with AT) of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The diesel version also gets the option for all-wheel-drive layout. 

2. Mahindra Scorpio N – Up to 18 Months

The new Mahindra Scorpio N is available in 5 trim levels – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L – in petrol and diesel engine options. The entry-level trim commands a waiting period of around 11-12 months. The Z6 and Z8 trims also command a waiting period of up to 11-12 months. The Z4 petrol and diesel have a waiting period of up to 17-18 months. The Z8L MT petrol and diesel commands a waiting period of around 6 months and 7 months respectively. The Z8L Automatic petrol version has a waiting period of 7-8 months, while the diesel AT commands a waiting period of up to 8-9 months. 

The Mahindra Scorpio N is available with two engine options – a 203bhp, 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol and a 175bhp, 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. A rear-wheel-drive layout is offered as standard, while the diesel variants also get an option of 4WD layout. 

3. Mahindra Scorpio Classic – Up to 7 Months

The Scorpio has been one of the most popular SUVs on sale in our market since its inception in 2002. The SUV was recently re-introduced as the new Scorpio Classic, which also received an overwhelming response from buyers. The new SUV is available in two variants – S and S11. Both variants currently command a waiting period of up to 7 months. 

The Scorpio Classic is powered by a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that churns out 132bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
