Several new cars have been planned for the Indian market that will arrive in the next 3-4 years. Interestingly, most of them are UVs (Utility vehicles) as the segment is growing at fast pace. Here’s a brief on the upcoming SUVs/MPVs from Citroen and Jeep, which are slated to hit our shores in coming years.
Upcoming Citroen SUVs/MPVs
The French automaker recently confirmed the new Citroen C3 small car for the Indian market. The model is scheduled to arrive in early 2022. While the C3 has been called hatchback by the automaker, it will take on multiple small cars including Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Some of its design bits are carried from the bigger Citroen cars including C4 and C5X. It could be offered with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options.
Citroen Berlingo MPV has been spotted testing multiple times in the country. Though, there no official words on its India launch timeline. The model underpins a new platform and comes in two different sizes – Standard and XL. The latter one features 7-seats configuration with bench type seats for the second and third row. It might come with the 1.5L petrol engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The next big launch from the American SUV manufacturer will be the Jeep Meridian 7-seater SUV that will challenge Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. Scheduled to launch in early 2022, the model might enter into production by April 2022. Powering the Meridian might be a 173bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel engine sourced from the Compass.
