Mahindra To Launch Next-Gen Bolero, Scorpio & XUV500; Details

Mahindra had announced to launch around 9 new utility vehicles including XUV700 and two brand new electric UVs in the country by 2026. The company has already launched the new XUV700, which has received an overwhelming response from buyers. The SUV commands a waiting period of close to 1 year.

Mahindra has also confirmed that the 5-door version of the Thar is also under development, which is likely to be launched by 2023. Adding to it, the company is also developing an all-new flagship model, codenamed W620. It is rumoured to be called the Mahindra XUV900 SUV Coupe. The new SUV Coupe will be based on the new front-wheel-drive platform with a provision of AWD system.

New Scorpio Mahindra has also confirmed that the next generations of the Bolero, Scorpio and XUV500 will be launched in our market. The next-gen Scorpio will first come in early 2022. The new model has already been spotted testing multiple times, giving us a fair idea of the changes on offer. It will be significantly bigger and has more features than the outgoing model. It will be based on the new ladder-on-frame chassis that also underpins the new Thar lifestyle SUV.

The petrol version will get a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is expected to produce around 150bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Rear-wheel-drive layout will be offered as standard, while the top-spec model will get AWD system.

New Bolero  Mahindra has confirmed that the next-gen Bolero will be launched between 2023 and 2026. We believe that the launch could take place in 2023-24, as the current model is already 10 years old. It will be based on the new ladder frame chassis that underpins the new Thar and the new Scorpio.

Next-gen XUV500 Mahindra will re-introduce the new XUV500 as a mid-sized SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. It is likely to measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length, which is significantly smaller than the outgoing model.
