Citroen C3 To Rival Tata Punch; Launch In Early 2022

Citroen has officially announced to launch the new Citroen C3 compact car in the Indian market in early 2022. The new model will first go on sale in India in Q1, 2022, followed by South American launch in 2022. It will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Punch and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis.

The company said that the Citroen C3 is a hatchback with crossover-like styling elements, such as raised ground clearance, roof rails and high-driving position. It is claimed that Citroen has achieved over 90 percent localisation levels with the new C3. The hatchback is based on the localised CMP modular platform that has been specially developed for emerging markets.

Citroen C3 Front Design

The new Citroen C3 measures 3.98 meters in length, which makes it longer than the Tata Punch and the Maruti Ignis. It shares styling cues from the bigger Citroen’s including the C4 and the C5 X. The SUV gets a dual-stage light signature with the double V-shaped lines that become chrome bars and continue across the width of the vehicle to the headlights and then separate to form a Y at the ends. The LED DRLs, turn indicators and position lights are placed on the upper side, while the main headlight is placed on the lower side.

The new Citroen C3 gets a high-bonnet, protective plates, protective bubble panels, fender flared, black plastic cladding, etc. It has a ground clearance of 180mm, a boot space of 315-litres and the segment-leading 1-litre of glove box. The Citroen C3 has a wheelbase of 2.54 meters, as it is claimed to offer segment-largest leg room in the second row in its category. It is claimed to offer a small turning radius of 10 meters. The India-spec model will be offered in 4 body colours – Ice White, Platinium Grey, Artense Grey and Zesty Orange. Adding to it, the company will offer two roof colours in India – Artense Grey or Zesty Orange.
