Tata Harrier

Buoyed by excellent response for Tiago and Nexon, Tata Motors is now aiming to enter into every segment of the market including premium SUV. At the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, Tata Motors surprised everyone with its newest 5-seater premium SUV concept – called the Tata H5X. Set to launch in the first quarter of 2019, the new SUV could be a big hit in the market. It will be the brand’s first car to be based on Land Rover’s platform. Featuring IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy, the new H5X looks exciting from every corner. The SUV is called the Tata Harrier, which will rival the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass. Jeep Renegade

American SUV maker, Jeep will soon launch its smallest and most affordable SUV – Renegade in the Indian market. This model will directly rival the Renault Captur and Hyundai Creta. While the competition comes with more urban looks and capabilities, Jeep aims to target buyers looking for a modern SUV with rugged profile and off-road abilities. The Renegade could be a game changer for the company, as Jeep aims to price this model as low as Rs 10 lakh for base model. It is expected to share most of the interior components and features from Compass SUV. The SUV could be powered by a 1.6-litre MJD diesel engine producing 118bhp and 320Nm of torque.

Tata 45X

Not just premium SUV segment, Tata Motors will also mark its entry into the highly competitive premium hatchback segment. This segment is currently dominated by Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. Tata will launch the 45X concept based premium hatchback in India in 2019. This will be brand’s first product to be based on AMP platform, which will also underpin several future products. The concept previews the design direction for the upcoming premium hatchback. Adding to it, this model will be equipped with powerful engines and segment-leading tech-features.

New Hyundai Styx

Korean automaker, Hyundai will enter into the sub-4 meter SUV segment in early 2019. If media reports are to be believed, the small SUV will be launched in the end of March 2019. Likely to be called Hyundai STYX, the small SUV will challenge the Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. The SUV will use the new Santro’s platform, which will help Hyundai to achieve aggressive pricing. It will also mark the debut of two new engines – 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Maruti Future S

This one is interesting! Maruti had showcased the Future S Concept car at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company claims that this product previews the brand’s future design direction for UVs. However, media reports claim that the company will launch a compact entry-level car on this concept. The new model will have crossover-like design and will rival the Renault Kwid and new Hyundai Santro. The new Future S based car could be a big hit for the Indo-Japanese brand in India.
