Hero Electric Scooter
Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that it will introduce a new electric scooter by March 2022. Details of the model, however, are still under the wraps. The official teaser reveals that the upcoming new Hero electric scooter will have a neat design with curvy stance, flyscreen and a lengthy split seat. Just so you know, Hero and Taiwan-based Gogoro are jointly developing EVs and charging network in the country. The new Hero electric scooter will use Gogoro’s battery swapping platform.
New Honda Electric Scooter
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is ready to enter into the electric two-wheeler space in early 2023. The company has already started the scooter’s feasibility test with its dealerships in late 2021. If reports are to be believed, Honda might bring in the PCX electric scooter that was previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo. In fact, its patent had been registered in India in May 2021. The upcoming Honda electric scooter will have a removable lithium-ion battery named – Honda Mobile Power Pack.
New TVS Electric Scooter
TVS Motor Company has planned several new electric bikes and scooters for the Indian market. The company aims to launch “over half of dozen” EVs across segments in the next couple of years. All these electric models will be introduced under the company’s new EV sub-brand. TVS Creon concept based electric scooter is likely to arrive in near future. It’s claimed to the most advanced connected scooter in the country. The model could be offered with the 12kW electric motor and 3 lithium-ion batteries.
Suzuki Electric Scooter
The Japanese two-wheeler maker has been working on the electric version of the Burgman scooter, which is likely to come sometime this year. It might share the electric powertrain and battery with Suzuki’s global model. The new Suzuki electric scooter will be designed by the company’s local styling team. Most of its design bits will be similar to its IC-engined version. Price of the e-scooter is estimated to be around Rs 1 lakh.
New Bajaj Electric Scooter
Bajaj Auto is ready to bring in its second electric scooter that’s estimated to cost around Rs 1.23 lakh. The latest spy images reveal that the new Bajaj electric scooter will carry sleek and sharper design language than the Chetak. It will have a compact rear section, while the swingarm and instrument console will be similar to the Chetak. The model might miss out on features such as sequential turn indicators and keyless operation. It could be packed with the e-Chetak’s 4kW motor sourcing power from a 2.9kWh battery pack. The new affordable Bajaj electric scooter could be christened as Bajaj Fluir or Bajaj Fluor.
New Ola Electric Scooter
Ola Electric will further expand its product portfolio with the launch of new and more affordable electric scooter and bike. While the official details of the upcoming Ola electric scooter are yet to be revealed, it’s likely to be based on the S1 and S1 Pro. The new e-scooter is likely to miss out on some important features and have different battery pack and range. It will lock horns against the Revolt RV400.
New Ather Electric Scooter
Ather Energy is working on a new electric scooter that’s reported to be priced below Rs 1 lakh. In fact, its prices might drop up to Rs 80,000 to 90,000 with state and central governments subsidies. It will be the most affordable Ather in the country. The new Ather e-scooter will take on multiple products right from Ola S1 and Simple One to IC-engine powered TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa and Suzuki Access.
