Suzuki Burgman Electric Spotted – 5 Important Things We Noticed

Suzuki Motorcycle India has been planning to enter into the electric scooter segment from quite sometime. In fact, the company revealed that its first electric scooter will be based on a global technology platform and range between 110cc – 125cc. It will be designed and developed especially for the Indian market by Suzuki India’s team. Now, the two-wheeler maker has begun testing prototype of its first electric scooter that recently caught on camera.

Here’re 5 important things we noticed about the upcoming Suzuki electric scooter.

1. The test mule, which was without any camouflaged, confirms that the model will be based on the Suzuki Burgman maxi-scooter.

2. The scooter has a special White and Blue dual-tone colour scheme highlighting its electric nature. It features a grey sleeve around the footboard and a rear tyre hugger.

3. Unlike the regular model that comes with exhaust canister, the Suzuki Burgman electric scooter misses out on it.

4. The reflector has been moved above the registration plate. The new Suzuki electric scooter also gets a digital instrument cluster that’s likely to come with Bluetooth and 4G LTE connectivity. That means, the user will be able to connect smartphone and access connected vehicle functions. Just so you know, the company recently rolled out the latest version of Suzuki Connect offering features such as turn-by-turn navigation, riding statistics, SMS and call alerts, charging status, caller ID alert and many more.

5. It has shock absorber on the right side, while the IC-engined model has a single-sided shock absorber on the left side. However, the front telescopic suspension and alloy wheels are exactly similar to the IC Burgman.

Powertrain details of the Suzuki Burgman electric scooter are still unknown. Though, it’s reported to come with a 3-4kWh battery pack and a 4-6kW electric motor. It’s likely to deliver a top speed around 80kmph and a range of 70-90km on a single charge.
