Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar RS400 – What We Know So Far

Bajaj Pulsar RS400 Price

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar RS400 fully-faired motorcycle is likely to share the platform

At the 2014 Auto Expo, Bajaj Auto had showcased two 400cc motorcycles – the Pulsar CS400 (Cruiser Sport) and the Pulsar RS400 (Race Sport). The company had launched the Dominar 400 motorcycle, which looks very closely to the CS400. The company didn’t launch the Pulsar RS400; however, a recent media report claims that the new Bajaj Pulsar RS400 will be launched in the Indonesian market in August 2020.

Bajaj Pulsar RS400 Specs

The Bajaj Pulsar RS400 is likely to be based on the modified version of the perimeter frame chassis, which also underpins the Pulsar RS200.  This platform also underpins the Dominar 400 motorcycle. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is India’s only fully-faired motorcycle in its category. While both bikes will share the platform, the new RS400 motorcycle is most likely to feature all-new styling.

The motorcycle is likely to feature the huge fairing, large and bold fuel tank and new tail-lamps. It will have all-new digital instrument console with Bluetooth support. For suspension mechanism, the bike could get USD front forks and monoshock at the rear. The company could also opt for the telescopic front forks to reduce pricing. Dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) will be offered as standard.

Bajaj Pulsar RS400 Launch

Similar to the RS200, the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 will receive mid-rise clip-on handlebars. The motorcycle is likely to feature the Dominar 400, which is the same engine that also powers the KTM RC390. It features 373.2cc single-cylinder engine with DTSI (Digital Triple Spark Ignition) technology. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is likely to produce around 40bhp of power and 35Nm of torque.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS400 fully-faired motorcycle will directly rival the TVS Apache RR 310 and the KTM RC390. Going by the media reports, it is visible that the RS400 will first go on sale in the Indonesian market. The motorcycle could also be launched in the country; however, Bajaj is yet to make an official statement on the same.
