2. Mahindra XUV500
Powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk, engine with maximum power of 140bhp and 330Nm of torque, the Mahindra XUV500 is easily one of the most popaulr options in the full-size seven-seat SUV space. Available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options, the SUV is now gearing up for a facelift likely to be launched by the end of this year. Set to get a more powerful engine, the facelift will get visual updates and new features. What makes it an ideal family car is the ample space inside and plethora of comfort features.
In fact, the new model will be more powerful and feature-loaded than the previous model. The new model will get subtle design upgrades, like new set of alloy wheels with 10-spoke rims similar to the XUV Aero concept, re-designed front fascia with new grille, revised bumper, new headlamps with double barrel projector lights and LED daytime running lights. At the back, the SUV looks refreshing with revised tail-lights, integrated roof-spoiler, large tail-gate strip laden with chrome, power folding ORVMs and well-integrated rear view camera.
The cabin of the car is loaded with new seat upholstery, new steering wheel, revised centre console and instrument panel. The biggest change will be a new touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is also equipped with several connectivity features like Ecosense, Mahindra’s connected applications, emergency call and android auto.
The more powerful version of the SUV will be powered by a new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, which is claimed to be 30bhp more powerful than the existing model. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 170bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm. The vehicle will also get a 2.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 140bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
