4. Renault Lodgy
Renault rolled out its large MPV Lodgy in 2015 in 7 & 8 seating layouts. Over the years the MPV has received multiple updates and is currently offered with a single diesel engine that offers power in two different tunes-108.5bhp and 103.8 bhp. Both the engines deliver 200Nm torque and come with 5-speed as well as 6-speed manual gearboxes. The MPV offers best-in-class storage space of 1,861-litres which makes one of the best seven-seater family cars in India. As for the features, it gets an electro-hydraulic power steering, ABS with EBD and brake assist to name a few.

5. Maruti Ertiga
Maruti was instrumental in pioneering the compact MPV segment, though many other vehicles followed the suit but no one could do any damage to Ertiga’s sales. Interestingly, the car continues to be one of the top-sellers for the company. That said, it was among the top 10 best-selling cars in India in may 2017. While the first two rows are comfortable in terms of space, the third one is suitable for kids. The Eritga carline is available with 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre oil burner in manual and automatic options. One must note that Ertiga is also available in CNG option, mated to a manual transmission.
