Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown SUV maker has silently launched the 2017 Mahindra XUV500 Sportz Edition in the country at Rs 16.53 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. The new special edition is based on the W10 trim, and is available with MT as well as AT variants. Except for the few exterior tweaks, the vehicle looks largely identical to the existing model. Talking about changes, the XUV500 Sportz edition is equipped with body decals on the bonnet, outside rear view mirror caps and lower door panels. There is a contrasting red shade on the roof rails, door handles, brake callipers and fog lamp enclosure. 2017 Mahindra XUV500 Sportz Front

Mechanically, the 2017 Mahindra XUV500 Sportz Edition remains the same. It continues to be powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine that is capable of producing 138bhp of power and 330Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, both drives the power to the front wheels. Only front wheel-drive version is on offer.

The new XUV500 Sportz edition is around Rs 10,000 pricier than the regular W10 variant. While the manual version is priced at Rs 16.53 lakh, the automatic model is tagged at Rs 17.55 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom Mumbai.
