Kia India has confirmed that it will announce prices of its first electric car on 2nd June. Called the Kia EV3, the electric crossover will be sold in select 12 cities. It’s claimed to deliver a range of 548km on a single charge. Volkswagen will roll out the Vitrus mid-size sedan on 9th June 2022. Developed under the brand’s India 2.0 strategy, the model will be based on the MQB-A-IN platform and come with 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engines. The new Hyundai Venue facelift is reported to launch in mid June, while the second-generation Maruti Brezza will see a release towards the end of June.
The French carmaker will bring in its second offering in India – the Citroen C3. It’s a hatchback with SUV-ish stance that will take on the Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis. The updated Toyota Urban Cruiser is reported to arrive after the new-generation Brezza. Most of its upgrades will be similar to the new Brezza. If reports are to be believed, the Indo-Japanese carmaker will launch the new-generation Maruti Alto in the month of July or August. Its production is likely to begin next month (i.e. June 2022).
The 2022 Tata Tigor EV with bigger battery pack is likely to hit showrooms before 2022 Diwali season. The CNG versions of the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza are expected to launch in coming months. Though, their official launch dates are yet to be announced. Toyota will foray into the mid-size SUV space with the Hyryder that will challenge the Hyundai Creta. Codenamed D22, the model might make its debut in June and its market launch is likely to happen in the next 2-3 months.
