New 2022 Maruti Eeco Launch By September – What We Know So Far

First launched in 2010, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco is ready to receive a generation change this year. While there is no official word on the same, a fresh media report claims the all-new Eeco will hit roads near around August or September 2022. Details of the new 2022 Maruti Eeco are scanty. Though, the van is likely to comes with slightly improved styling and a few new features including a power steering. The new model might retain the existing powertrain – i.e. 1.2L, 4-cylinder unit. With some noticeable exterior and interior updates, the new 2022 Maruti Eeco might witness a minor price hike. At present, the van is available in four variants – 5-seater STD, 7-seater STD, 5-seater AC and 5-seater AC CNG – priced at Rs 4.63 lakh, Rs 4.92 lakh, Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 5.94 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

In other updates, the Indo-Japanese automaker is all set to launch the second-generation Brezza by the end of June 2022. It will be followed by a new mid-size SUV (codenamed YFG) that will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta. The model will be co-developed by Suzuki and Toyota Motor Corporation and sold via dealerships of their respective carmakers. Interestingly, the new Maruti mid-size SUV will come with the hybrid powertrain and sit on Toyota’s TNGA-B platform (DNGA).

Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki will introduce the much-awaited 5-door Maruti Jimny by mid 2023. The off-road SUV will be made available with two seating configurations – 5-seats and 7-seats. It will be produced with nearly 70% locally sourced components. For power, the Jimny will use the 1.5L petrol engine that’s good enough for 102PS and 130Nm. It will have Suzuki’s Allgrip Pro 4 wheel drive technology, a low range transfer gear and 3-link rigid axle suspension.
